Both these things actually happened to me...

You see - when I first got on the web I was strictly governed by price.. but going for the cheap web host service providers ended up being more expensive...

I chose my web hosting service as they were cheap and sounded good... Then I created my web site.. Ahhh - all finished - now for traffic...

After submitting my site to the search engines I then decided on an extensive off line advertising strategy...

All set... my ads were in the papers - now all I had to do was sit back and wait for the action to begin...

EEEK!! My web hosting service provider went down... For TWO whole days...

I wasted all my advertising money... was made look like an ameteur (and I was)... and I will never really know the full cost of having an unreliable web host service...

Horror story number two...

I created a site and uploaded it to a free web host service provider... everything started well... I even won an award from a family oriented search engine...

But then I started getting complaints in my email about the rude content of my site... I was mystified there was nothing rude in my site... I looked into my url address and there right in front of my eyes was a (very leave nothing to the imagination) sex site...

Someone had hacked in and using my web site url were promotiing hard core sex... I was ashamed to think that people actually believed I was involved with that...

So as you can see choosing a reliable web hosting service has to be your number one priority when setting up a business on the web...

For a business website I recommend 2 Webhost providers...

First of all I highly recommend Host4Profit

This hosting company is ideal for my needs supply a massive 300 meg of webspace, I have 2 web sites hosted by this company, however their support is limited (they still answer your questions) and if you are very new to this stuff you may prefer my second option...

Second I recommend Virtualis

I personally am not using this company at present however they come highly recommended by many very respected people in the industry. Where they truly have a superior reputation is in their support service and they may a better option for the absolute beginner.

Having given the free web host providers a bit of a serve above I still believe they too offer a good opportunity for beginners to experiment with web design and search engine submissions, just do a search on any search engine for free web host and you will find plenty of them, just don't depend on them for your serious business efforts.

So choose wisely...

First don't make it too long like I did with this one http://www.earn-monthly-commissions.com

The hyphens are too hard to advertise away from the web...

So choose a name as short and as easy to remember as possible.

But also try to include your main keyword or it should actually describe what your site is about...

Then of course you may find all the good ones taken...
